I have reached 19 weeks of pregnancy and Indigo has weaned. It was pretty much a non event, which is nice...and it is very sad. I would be crazy to not be proud of the breastfeeding relationship we had. The first six months of her life were constant nursing moments. I didn't think we would make it many, many times....and here she is, just a few days short of 18 months. I have 20 weeks before the relationship starts again with baby Sage! I think I deserve a little break, so does Bob. Bob is what Indigo has named my breasts. It's strange and endearing! So since she is a nurse to sleep baby, we now sing, sing and sing some more to sleep. She loves "the bear went over the mountain" verse 2 "the wiggles went over the mountain" verse 3 "dora and boots went over the mountain." We sing it over and over again. I also sing many songs from my Lutheran School days. The words are wrong, the key off and it is so amazing to watch her be lulled to sleep by my mediocre voice. It's taking forever to fall asleep...but I am holding onto all those moments as before I know it, she will be too independent.
